Using Vaulthat

These terms govern your use of Vaulthat, including account access, workspace collaboration, archive upload, storage, restore, download, subscription billing, and related communications.

By creating an account, accepting an invitation, or using the service, you agree to these terms.

Accounts and workspace security

  • You must provide accurate account information and keep it up to date.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and any two-factor authentication methods connected to your account.
  • You are responsible for activity that takes place through your account or workspace unless caused by our breach of these terms or applicable law.

Your content and permissions

  • You keep responsibility for the files, project materials, and other content you upload to Vaulthat.
  • You must have all rights, permissions, and lawful grounds needed to upload, store, restore, download, and share that content through the service.
  • You must not use Vaulthat for unlawful material, malicious files, infringement, or any activity that could damage the service or interfere with other users.

How the archive workflow works

Vaulthat supports archive uploads, restore requests, quoted retrievals, time-limited restore access, and workspace billing. Uploads may involve packaging folders before transfer, multipart uploads direct to storage, integrity checks, and retention or cleanup workflows.

Incomplete uploads are not treated as completed archive storage and may be cleaned up automatically.

Billing, charges, and refunds

Some Vaulthat features require an active paid workspace subscription and a valid payment method. Archive uploads and restore requests are charged separately. While a subscription remains active, the monthly Stripe invoice covers platform access together with any ongoing storage that has accrued after the prepaid 180-day included period.

Unless required by law, the following refund rules apply.

  • Archive prepayments are non-refundable once an upload completes. They cover a minimum 180 days of storage and reflect direct AWS-backed storage commitments incurred to hold the archive.
  • Restore or retrieval charges are non-refundable once incurred because they reflect direct AWS-backed retrieval and restore costs.
  • Ongoing storage charges added to a monthly subscription invoice are non-refundable because they reflect direct AWS-backed storage costs for protected archive data.
  • Monthly platform access subscription fees may be refunded only at our discretion and are limited to charges from the previous 30 days.
  • You remain responsible for taxes, bank charges, currency conversion costs, and similar third-party charges unless the law says otherwise.

Suspension, restriction, or termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate access where this is reasonably necessary for non-payment, security concerns, suspected abuse, legal compliance, or material breach of these terms.

Billing restriction, retry-window, and archive-retention enforcement workflows may apply where subscription invoices remain unpaid. After repeated failed payment attempts, archived data that is no longer covered by prepaid storage may be deleted. If prepaid storage later expires while no active subscription is in place, the affected archive data may also be deleted.

Service changes and availability

We may change, improve, suspend, or withdraw features of Vaulthat from time to time. While we aim to provide a reliable service, availability can be affected by maintenance, incidents, third-party infrastructure, or factors outside our control.

Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, loss of business, or loss arising from misuse of the service, failures in third-party platforms, or your failure to keep credentials secure or maintain your own records of uploaded material.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of Vaulthat after an update takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes or claims relating to Vaulthat or these terms, unless applicable law gives you additional rights.
